Tenterden Schools Trust is a mixed multi academy trust in mid-Kent that currently runs one large secondary, five primaries and three nurseries.

TST is looking for new Trustees who can use their skills and experience to help benefit over 2500 students within our schools. You will have leadership expertise and may be operating at Director level already. Either way, you will be aware of the 7 principles of public life and be able to join the Board of Directors as they provide strategic direction for our schools in Tenterden and the surrounding area. The Trust Board creates robust accountability, assurance and oversight of educational and financial performance and it is ambitious for all of its students. We are looking for candidates with a range of leadership expertise, especially in education, finance and the church or Christian ethos. You will also bring enthusiasm, curiosity and objectivity to the role in a drive to improve our organisation. All Trustees/Directors will sit on the Trust Board in order to set strategic direction, maintain financial probity and to hold the CEO to account.

The vision of Tenterden Schools Trust lies within our desire to serve the local community, getting students ready for what life has to throw at them and to create smooth transitions between all phases of education. If you would like to be part of a passionate team that is helping to shape the future chances of young people please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.

More information on this successful Trust can be accessed on the following website: https://www.tenterden-schools-trust.com

This is an unpaid voluntary role and you would be expected to attend 6 Board meetings a year and to be part of one of our committees, Education (you could be a practising CEO or deputy CEO of a MAT), Finance & Resources (with finance -  accountant or similar - or estate management background) and Church (someone who can support the Christian ethos of our Church schools).

To apply, please send a CV or an expression of interest outlining your experience, to Mrs Berna Turner, Governance Professional at b.turner@tenterden-schools-trust.com. An informal discussion can be arranged with our CEO (Interim), Mr J K Single, prior to application via the same email address.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all members of the community.
