Discovery college organised a ‘Spring Sprint’ in aid of Cancer Research UK. 100 students paid an entry fee and raised sponsorship money and ran a course taking them through the school woods.

Once back on the 3G pitch they enjoyed sports activities organised by our Sports Leaders and a cake sale.

We thank students and parents for their support and once all the sponsorship has been collected will have a final total. We thank Tesco’s in Tenterden for their generous donation of Easter eggs as prizes.

7D5/8D5 held their fundraising event for our Discovery charity – a Chinese market and sweet cones and cake sale.

It was held the day before of the start of the Chinese New Year and was very successful. Students were able to buy chop sticks, Chinese decorations, fortune cookies, fans, panda keyrings and other bits and pieces.

Our total now stands at over £600 which is fantastic. The photo shows Rihanna with the sweet cones and Genevieve and Erica with the Chinese market.

7D3 and 8D3 organised a tombola in November and 7D4 and 8D4 ran a cake sale. Erynn and Jamie expertly ran the sale and after our first four events we are now approaching £500 raised so far.

We have started our fundraising effort with 7D1 and 8D1 organising a cake sale and football on the new 3G pitch. This has made a tremendous start to our campaign.

Our recycling enthusiasts decorated the Christmas tree that Discovery have entered in the Christmas Tree festival at the Tenterden Zion Baptist church.

It will be on show throughout this weekend as part of the Tenterden Christmas market event.

Everybody is encouraged to pop in and see our entry alongside the others. Next week the tree will be returned to Discovery college.
