Homewood School Alumni

As one of the many thousands of alumni who have benefited from a Homewood education over the last 70 years, you are a valued part of our continuing community and a role model to the many students who are following in your footsteps. The friendships you made here are also likely to endure a lifetime.

So whether you can spare time to come and speak to current students, offer work experience to sixth formers, want to arrange a class reunion or simply share your news, we would love to hear from you.

We are always keen to reconnect with alumni who may have been out of touch for a while but particularly this year as it’s our 70th birthday*! All former students and staff are warmly invited to join us for a special celebration of this milestone on Saturday 22 June 2019, between 10am and 1pm, for coffee and birthday cake.

Please click here to let us know if you plan to attend. Do also spread the word to former classmates you are in contact with. We look forward to seeing many of you in June.

In the meantime, please register at our new alumni portal so that we can keep in contact and you can begin to benefit from being part of a potentially huge Homewood alumni network.

Homewood retrospective exhibition

We are hoping to create a new exhibition of school memorabilia and photos as part of our celebrations. Please get in contact if you would be willing to lend or donate something for this exhibition by emailing Alison Miles at a.miles@homewood.kent.sch.uk

*Homewood took in its first pupils in Autumn 1948 and was officially opened as a complete school in 1949.

We are turning 70!

Homewood reaches this milestone birthday in 2019 and celebrations are well underway:-
–  70th Birthday Party: On the morning of Saturday 22 June, 150 alumni and guests, including Ashford & Tenterden MP Damian Green and the Mayor of Tenterden Jean Curteis – herself a former pupil – attended a celebration at the school. The event included an exhibition from the archives and tours of the House (now called the Mansion).
– Homewood Alumni Network: With the help of educational charity Future First, we’ve launched an online space for former Homewood students. Please register at the portal here so that we can keep in contact with you; let you know about future events and tell you how you can help current students.
–  Archive70 Project: We are currently undertaking a major project to sort and catalogue the school’s archives. Please get in contact if you have any photos or memorabilia that you would be able to lend or donate, or if you would be willing to participate in recording an oral history about your time at the school.
