The friendships you made here are also likely to endure a lifetime.

Archive70 Project: To coincide with our official 70th birthday in 2019, we started a major project to preserve and catalogue the school’s archives. Volunteer students from Year 12 have been working with the school’s Development Manager and the Secretary of the Tenterden Local History Society to secure the archives for future reference and display. We are currently also looking for material from the 1980s onwards to fill some gaps in our records. Please get in contact via alumni@homewood.kent.sch.uk if you have any photos or memorabilia that you would be able to lend or donate, or if you would be willing to participate in recording an oral history about your time at the school.

Alumni meetings and reunions: Sadly, due to COVID, we were unable to hold our 2020 Summer Alumni Event – hopefully we can hold something next Summer so watch this space. The group planning the 1970-73 Leavers Reunion also took the decision to cancel their planned event for the time being but they are still keen to track down more fellow classmates. If you are interested in a future reunion, and reconnecting with your friends from that time, please contact: d.brind@ntlworld.com
Ron Saxby 1937-2019: A fascinating personal account of this talented former student’s England football selection and International debut, alongside legend Sir Bobby Charlton, has come to light in our archives.
Following the sad news of the death of Arsenal and England schoolboy footballer Ronald (Ron) Saxby, aged 82 at the end of 2019, volunteers cataloguing Homewood’s archives checked the school’s magazines from 1953 – the year in which Ron received his England and Arsenal call-ups. To their amazement they found a full and detailed account of his first appearances for his country with Sir Bobby and fellow ‘Busby Babe’ Wilf McGuiness. You can read the full account as published in the July 1953 Homewood School Magazine here
Did you go to school with Ron? If so please contact alumni@homewood.kent.sch.uk as we would love to capture your memories for our oral history archive.
