Homewood Performing Arts News: we’re getting ready to come back!

It has been a difficult time for Performing Arts across the country and in school. Homewood School would normally be having lots of activities and performances scheduled for our students but, due to lockdown and restrictions in place, these have been on hold for a whole year.
But there’s good news on the horizon: we are beginning to make plans for when we are allowed to have our concerts, dance shows, drama performances and the school show back!
Our new drama company ACTING UP are starting their virtual activities and sign-up sheets are in the drama department for all students who have a passion for performing, would like to learn more about back stage or who are interested in the technical side of theatre.
Our new music company PLAYING UP has sign-up sheets for students who would like to be involved in a guitar group, keyboard club, singing group, the school production or booking practice rooms for band rehearsals. We will also be offering a Music tech club as well.
The dance department will be continuing with their groups SHIFT and INTO SHIFT once bubbles are lifted.
We would like to say a massive thank you to students for being involved in the virtual events that we have been putting on and we look forward to our extra curricular options commencing as soon as it is safe to do so.
From September, we will also be running ARTS AWARD Bronze/Silver for all students in Year 9 and above, students will be given more information and can apply to the Head of Performing Arts, Mrs Robinson.
Exciting times are coming!
