Year 11 Revision Evening

Year 11 Revision Evening

Dear Parents/Carers

The run up to the main exam season in May and June can be a challenging time for both students and families alike. The realisation that all this is going to happen in just a few short weeks is beginning to dawn for many as deadlines close in and the pressure of work begins to build.

As a result, I wanted to let you know of some of the opportunities available to provide support at this challenging time.

Firstly, on Tuesday 19th March between 5pm and 7pm we will be holding a Year 11 revision support evening at the Singleton Environment Centre, Wesley School Road (off Cuckoo Lane), Singleton, Ashford, Kent. TN23 5LW. This will run as an informal drop-in session where parents, carers and students can find out more about revision strategies and resources in English, Maths and Science as well as a range of other subjects.

The last series of mock exams takes place in the first week back after the break, giving students an opportunity to identify current strengths and areas for development. Students should take the opportunity to find some time to prepare for these over the next two weeks. Other ongoing activities include:

  • Department revision and support sessions at lunchtime and after school.
  • Intervention workshops during tutor time on Thursdays.
  • A work catch-up session from 2.15 to 4.30 every Wednesday in F14.
  • Structured revision programmes for every subject.
  • Year 11 guide with an overview of the assessment model for each course.

If you would like to know more about any of the above, please contact your child’s college in the first instance who will be able to provide further details.

So that we can plan appropriately for the revision session on 19th March, I would be grateful if you could indicate your interest in one of two ways: Contacting your child’s college by either email or phone or completing a response via survey monkey at the location below. Please also find attached further details about the revision evening in March as well as an information leaflet that you may find helpful.

Yours sincerely
