Christmas decorations

Christmas decorations

This term Year 7 have been focusing on the topic of sustainability and looking at the changes people could make to enable them to become sustainable. Within this topic we also looked at the very current issue surrounding plastics and the significant impacts which it is causing to the environment and people.

As part of raising awareness on this issue each student has been designing their own Christmas decoration out of recycled plastic where some of them will be displayed at the Christmas Tree Festival at the Tenterden Zion Baptist Church and the Tenterden Town Hall.

We are very grateful to the mayor Cllr Pam Smith, the Co-ordinator of the Tenterden Litter Pick, Claire Gilbert and Mrs Sally Lees, Principal of Homewood School. The photograph shows our visitors with Adam Lawson, Head of Discovery and Miss Barnes, Teacher of Geography who organised this successful topic of work with a group of enthusiastic Year 7 students.
