On Monday 2nd July a group of KS5 Art & Design students took part in an afternoon of Life Drawing in room E45. The tutor and model from UCA were impressed on how the students showed confident use of a range of Art materials to create different studies of the model. Students were encouraged to sketch without looking at their paper, show dark and light highlighted areas, and also use colour to record the structure and form of the figure. For some students, this was the first time working from a model, and even the first time of creating large scale drawings. The end results were very impressive!
Then, after school, staff were invited to take part in the session too. This was part of a ‘well being’ activity and it was certainly a chance to enjoy being creative.
