Colourful umbrella art brings Tenterden old and young together

Pupils from Tenterden Primary Federation, St Michael’s Church of England Primary School and Homewood School (part of the Tenterden Schools Trust) have come up with a truly bright idea to help demystify dementia and break down barriers between old and young Tenterden residents.

GILES THORNTON JAZZ ORCHESTRA – Be In Today

Giles Thornton is (at the time of my writing this) about to graduate from the Guildhall School of Music; his final recital was earlier in June and yet he has already composed a couple of suites for jazz orchestra and found time to work as copyist / arranger for Metropole Orkest and Liane Carroll (who guests on a delicious cover of Joni Mitchell’s ‘Case of You’, track 7).

Animated film captures moving story of refugee pupils’ journey from Syria to Homewood

The moving story of two Syrian students at Homewood School & Sixth Form Centre has been made into a powerful animated film to help others understand the plight of refugee families fleeing war and oppression.

Kate Farrell of Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre in Tenterden wins a Silver Teaching Award in the category, The Award for the Outstanding Use of Technology in Education, supported by Google.

Author Mark Lowery Visiting Homewood

On Monday 11th June, award winning author Mark Lowery will be visiting Homewood School to speak to the Year 6 classes from the Tenterden Schools Trust and Year 7 students from Homewood.

Sport Relief 2018

Homewood School staff and students came together to raise money to change lives for Sport Relief week. Throughout the week the PE department hosted events in order to promote their fundraising.
